The first ever Bunnigalore Endurance event was held at Bunnigalore, on the western edge of the Belanglo State Forest, on the 21st January 2018.

It was hot work for the intrepid 51 riders who entered the event, but humidity was very low and with plenty of water along the track and sensible riding, the horses finished well.

Congratulations to the Team Challenge winners – Team Scarlet Oaks (Gertraud Norton, Noelle Bentlage from Germany, Tom Pankhurst and Georgie Pankhurst).  Not only did they receive lovely bronze horse head trophies, but also a $20 voucher each for the The Mobile GG Spot!

The day started with a seminar for newcomers to the sport.  Presenters were Dr Matthew Walker who has been riding endurance competitively for 31 years, holds many championship buckles, has vetted a endurance rides for 25 years, and has represented Australia overseas, and Carol Layton, an independent equine nutritionist who delivers equine nutrition seminars around Australia and overseas, and who has been riding endurance for 15 years, with multiple championship completions and has been the recipient of National Points and National Distance Horse awards in Lightweight division.

A fabulous team of volunteers worked cheerfully throughout the day to put on this professional fun-filled day – Thank you to all!
