The quiet village of Wingello was awash with horses for the massive annual endurance event held on the fourth weekend in May.  Horses, people, floats, campfires, shops, a horsemanship demonstration, our favourite Rock God Dave Newman live around the bonfire, and 349 entries across the various ride distances on offer!

The event catered for all levels of endurance, with youngsters being led around the 5km course by their parents, groups of friends taking their time to enjoy stunning forest trails along the 10km, 20km, and 41km courses, and a field of 105 riders in the competitive 80km ride, culminating in an exciting gallop finish between local girls April Newman and Georgia Curry, setting a new course record of 3hrs 46mins.

Fabulous sponsorship of the event by Maxxis Tyres enabled more event infrastructure than ever, the awarding of stunning trophies and embroidered wool kersey rugs for winners in all divisions of the 80km ride, and best of all – professional filming of the event for ongoing promotion of the sport of endurance – keep an eye out for us on social media and regional television!

The Teams Event sponsored by Hogan Planning, Bowral saw the Illawarra Trail Riders (Ann Garard, Wanda Egan, Robyn Goodall and Renae Drury) successful in the introductory teams event, and the Valley Girls and Guys (Jennifer Gilbertson, Emily Streckfuss, Peter Bice and Victoria Bice) winning the 80km teams event.
