What a fabulous weekend we enjoyed again at Wingello – not only sunny and calm – but warm as well! It was wonderful to see a record 329 rider entries across the weekend, and so many happy faces enjoying music and food around the central campfire.
Saturday was a buzz of newcomer activity, with many of the ‘old-timers’ lending a hand or doling out pearls of wisdom. Sunday dawned to the 80km riders cantering off into a classic highland foggy morning. Meanwhile the ride base was busy all weekend, with horses coming and going, being strapped and presented to vetting, while strappers and volunteers dashed around carrying out a multitude of jobs, the NSW Rural Fire Service carted gallons of water, and those with time visited the trade stalls and food outlets, or just sat back in the central hub and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Line Honours was closely contested, but went to Talea Hasko-Stewart riding Blakes Heaven Bombora, in a riding time of 4:03hrs.
